Privacy policy: how iost.asia handles your data

iost.asia has no accounts, no ads and no tracking cookies. Live prices and explorer lookups go directly from your browser to public APIs, which can see your IP address. This page lists every one of them.

Open account

Opens CEX.IO, a crypto exchange running since 2013 and registered with FinCEN in the US. IOST is not listed there, so you start with crypto and swap.

The short version

iost.asia is a static information site. You cannot create an account here, there are no forms to fill in, and we do not run advertising, analytics trackers or tracking cookies. We do not build profiles of visitors and we do not sell data.

The site does show live data, such as the IOST price, exchange rates and blockchain lookups. Our server does not fetch that data for you. Instead, small scripts in your browser request it directly from public services. That means those services receive a normal web request from your device, including your IP address, and their own privacy policies apply to it.

Public APIs your browser calls

These are the only external services the site’s scripts contact. Pages with a live price or converter call the market and currency-rate services; the three blockchain endpoints are used only by the explorer widget, for example on our IOST explorer page.

External services contacted by your browser
ServiceAddressWhat it is used for
CoinGecko APIapi.coingecko.comIOST price, market data and charts
Binance market data APIdata-api.binance.visionBackup IOST/USDT price if CoinGecko fails
jsDelivr CDN (currency-api)cdn.jsdelivr.netUSD exchange rates for local currencies

IOST mainnet node APIapi.iost.ioNetwork status, transactions and accounts
IOST Layer 2 RPCl2-mainnet.iost.ioLayer 2 status and lookups
BNB Chain RPCbsc-dataseed.bnbchain.orgBEP-20 IOST address and transaction lookups

Fonts and images are served from iost.asia itself, not from third-party font services.

When you use the explorer, whatever you type, such as a transaction hash, an IOST account name or a 0x address, is sent to the matching blockchain endpoint so it can return the result. Blockchain data is public by design, but the service you query can link your lookup to your IP address. If that matters to you, avoid pasting your own addresses, or check them on an official explorer of your choice. Our price page and converter only request market and currency data; amounts you enter in the converter are calculated in your browser and never sent anywhere.

What is stored on your device

To avoid asking the same APIs again on every page, the site keeps a short cache of public market data in your browser’s sessionStorage. Prices are kept for about 90 seconds, chart data for about 10 minutes and exchange rates for about an hour. The cache holds only public data, never anything about you, and your browser deletes it automatically when you close the tab. We do not set cookies or use localStorage for tracking.

Hosting logs

Like almost every website, iost.asia is served by a hosting provider whose servers keep standard technical logs. These typically include your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser’s user agent. They are used to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose errors. We do not use them to identify or profile individual visitors.

If you email us

If you write to support@iost.asia, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply and, where relevant, to fix the page you wrote about. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not share your message or address with anyone without your permission. You can ask us to delete your correspondence at any time. More about how we work is on our contact page and about page.

Our pages link to exchanges, regulators and block explorers. Once you follow a link, the other site’s privacy policy applies, including when you click a button to an exchange such as the ones described in our disclaimer. If we ever change how the site handles data, for example by adding a new data source, we will update this page first. Questions about privacy go to the same address as everything else: support@iost.asia.
